Rosanna Davis Obituary

Mother Rosanna Miles Davis, daughter of the late Robert Sr and Henrietta Miles, was born on March 5, 1946 in Brownsville, SC. She attended and graduated from Wright High School in Blenheim, SC.

Mother Davis worked in Bennettsville, SC for many years before attending Chris Logan’s Beauty School for Cosmetology. She was a licensed gifted cosmetologist for several years while also working at the Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ as a Certified Nurses Assistant. After medical training, she became a certified Dialysis Technician and began a career in the dialysis department at Holy Name. Mother Davis happily retired from the Holy Name Medical Center in 2012.

Mother Davis was brought up and received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at the Antioch Baptist Church in Brownsville, SC. Then after moving to New Jersey in 1985, she joined the Englewood Church of God in Christ in Englewood, NJ.  There she served faithfully as a choir member and a member of the usher board. Later, in 2008, Mother Davis joined the Bethlehem Judah Christian Fellowship (BJCF) Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Anthony W. Gilyard. Upon joining BJCF, Mother Davis stated to Pastor Bishop Gilyard,  “I don’t have anything bad to say about my previous pastor. I want to join BJCF because this is where my children are, and I want to be with my family”.  At BJCF, Mother Davis served faithfully in the Greeters Ministry, the Legacy Scholarship Committee, the Hospitality Club and the Mothers’ Board. Mother was appointed Assistant Church Mother here at BJCF by Bishop Gilyard. Because of her love of the Word of God, Mother Davis desired to dig deeper and learn more. She attended and graduated with a theology degree from Midwest College of Theology.

On February 27, 1966, Mother Davis married the late John L. Davis in Bennettsville, SC. They were married for 48 years and were blessed with two beautiful children, Reginald and Regina.

Mother Davis loved and adored her son, Reggie, and her daughter, Regina and she MARVELED at her four grandchildren Asia, Reggie Jr., Bryanna and Kyla who are her pride and joy. She especially was grateful to God that He allowed her to live to witness all four of her grandchildren graduating from High School. Mother Davis enjoyed traveling, going on Mother/Daughter trips with Regina, sightseeing and spending time with her love ones.

Mother Rosanna Miles Davis departed this life to be with the Lord on May 5, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Bogota, NJ.
